Iris Martinez for Illinois State Senate (SD 20)

Iris Martinez is the Assistant Majority Leader in the Illinois Senate. Martinez has served as a state senator since 2002. She is an outstanding leader for Planned Parenthood issues. As the lead sponsor of legislation ensuring contraceptive coverage in health insurance, Martinez fought to make sure that women’s health is treated equally and fairly. In addition to contraceptive equity, she has also supported responsible sex education.

Senator Martinez has a 100% pro-choice voting record.

Martinez serves on the Senate Public Health Committee. Planned Parenthood relies on her consistent pro-choice votes in that committee because it is a key committee for Planned Parenthood issues.
