Beth Coulson for Illinois State Representative (HD 17)

Beth Coulson has been a state representative since 1997. She is the Republican Spokesperson for the Registration & Regulation Committee and for the Health & Healthcare Disparities. She also is a member of the Human Services Committee and the Appropriations-Human Services Committee. Planned Parenthood relies on her strong pro-choice support in these committees because they handle the majority of legislation important to us.

Representative Coulson has a 100% pro-choice record.

As a state representative, Beth Coulson has been a leader for reproductive choice care and has co-sponsored numerous bills designed to ensure greater access to health care. She voted in favor of contraceptive coverage in health insurance, access to emergency contraception for rape victims, and medically accurate sex education. Moreover, she has opposed dangerous restrictions on the right to choose abortion which would have endangered women’s health and safety.
